well the tf version does
18 + 50 + 36 + 32 + 38 = 174 bonus damage + dw and bleed

the bos version does
18 + 0 + 36 + 32 + 120 = 206 bonus damage + dw (earlier) and is lighter on energy and recharge

Yes, theory crafting is great. But a faster offhand attack would mean knocking the foe down faster. Which means less of a chance to react. And then also, a deep wound earlier in a chain means a deep wound with more time to be removed.

Did you mean auto attacks, then? Who uses those? (and no, it's still =<3 damage/attack)

To me, the biggest reason to play the Fang-BoS variant is the 10s recharge. But there's also the tiny detail of the Deep Wound being out of MendTouch range once the spike has finished, being covered by both Poison and Cripple.

I used to play something similar. It is much better than your second Build.
But, you have enough Energy to use [[Falling Spider] instead of [[Falling Lotus-Strike], [[Blades of Steel] is another Option for [[Twisting Fangs], also you get the full Damage with 4 Attacks.
In that Build, you mustn't use an IAS ('cause you got a KD), so you could, what I liked in my Builds, start another Combo or parts of a Combo which will give you much mor options in Fights.

The second is quite decieving as it is pretty good in low level PvP like AB etc. It's less spike, less reliant on its enchantment, and more a quick recharging pressure chain (GFS-WS-TF-GFS-WS-DB-that allows the Assassin to deal with more troublesome players with popular blocking stances, etc, rather than a blockable spike leaving the Assassin autoattacking or retreating back looking for a new target or chance to strike.

I actually prefer running it over the spike chain due to it's universatility, it's probably my most played PvP build in AB at the moment. I generally throw in Death's Charge aswell for a minor heal and/or shadowstep for manouverability, or if I have a good Monk I'll take Rending Touch as a well timed use of that can be devastating to a target that relies on enchantments with minimal impact on yourself due to Grenths Grasps quick recharge and long duration. I've even thrown in Blinding Powder as a counter measure against melee and for more condition stacking against Rangers a few times which has worked well for me aswell.

Deep Wound is perhaps one of the most lethal conditions applicable (besides Dazed). DW helps you kill much faster; think about it this way- 100HP you don't need to worry about and they receive less benefit from heals. And how do you reason for calling DW a "costly interrupt"? First of, [[Twisting Fangs] has no casting time, and is 10 energy, which shouldn't concern the Assassin if they've got high a high critical strike rate, and a Zealous mod wouldn't hurt either. Now if you give me one good reason why he should not pack DW, I'll wear a chastity belt for the rest of my life.

AB Variant ~

[Grenth's Grasp][whirling charge][unsuspecting strike][jungle strike][trampling ox][falling lotus][twisting fangs][attacker's insight]

(Can still just afford the chain with Zealous Daggers if AI gets stripped)

Don't you need Icy Daggers to use Grenths Grasp?

Well, maybe you should .n Of Course Icy Daggers are only for Unsuspecting relevant, agter that you can switch.
This Combo costs a bit.

Yeh, sorry - switch to zealous once the Crippled has been applied of course

That being said, the combo is also managable in a Vamp set (Good ol' Crit Strikes) - Just with the odd Auto-attack here or there
